Mission 97 : 5 sites en France sont ciblés - 1 en Bretagne

NANTES - 15h02 et 15h09 -PORT & AÉRODROME

Mission 1 : 130 B-17 sur 147 B-17 sont dispatchés sur deux cibles à Nantes ; 78 sur les installations portuaires entre 15h02 et 15h09.

52 B-17 sont envoyés sur l'aérodrome de Nantes/Château-Bougon entre 15h09 et 15h12. Les revendications sont de 22-2-5 avions de la Luftwaffe.

7 B-17 sont donnés perdus. 1 B-17 est irréparable. 47 B-17 sont endommagés. Les pertes sont de 9 WIA et 60 MIA.

La mission était escorté par 79 P-47, qui revendiquent 2-0-1 avions allemands. Pas de pertes.

Mission 2 : 93 B-17 sur 148 sont dispachés sur La Pallice entre 17h55 et17h58. L'aérodrome de la Rochelle/Laleu entre 17h55 et 17h58. L'aérodrome de Cognac/Chateaubernard à 17h31. Les revendications sont de 22-3-8 avions de la Luftwaffe. 4 B-17 sont perdus. 5 B-17 sont irréparables et 17 sont endommagés. Les pertes sont de 44 KIA, 9 WIA et 30 MIA.

VIII Bomber Command Mission 98: 5 B-17 du 422d Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), 305th Bombardment Group (Heavy), ce sont joins à la RAF durant l'attaque de nuit sur la gare de triage de Modane.

VIII Air Support Command Mission 59: 67 sur 72 B-26 sont envoyés sur l'aérodrome de Beaumont le Roger à 17h35 et l'aérodrome de Triqueville à 17h35. 2 B-26 sont donnés endommagés.
